Don’t just watch science. Become part of the discovery.

MY ORIGIN STORY

From Soil to the Stars explores life across scales and environments—from the microscopic worlds beneath our feet to some of Earth's most extreme environments, microgravity, and space biology.

Through research, exploration, and citizen science, I invite people inside the process of discovery: to ask questions, collect evidence, and explore how what we learn about life on Earth can help us understand life beyond it—and how discoveries made for extreme environments and space can help us back home.

What is From Soil to the Stars?

BENEATH OUR FEET
Soil • Microbiomes • Nematodes

AT THE EXTREMES
Arctic • Caves • Extreme Environments

BEYOND EARTH
Microgravity • Space Biology • C. elegans

‍ ‍On August 26, 2026, I experienced zero gravity aboard an Air Zero G parabolic flight in Bordeaux, France, as part of Space for Humanity's 2026 Zero-G cohort.

But Zero-G wasn't the destination. It became another step in a much larger journey: exploring what life can teach us across changing and extreme environments—from the microscopic worlds beneath our feet to microgravity and space biology.

From soil to the stars, there are worlds everywhere if we're curious enough to look.

Science in Action

🪱 Join the Soil Science Lab

The Soil Science Lab is a growing citizen science initiative exploring soil biodiversity, nematodes, environmental microbiology, and ecosystem health through hands-on research and community participation.

From classrooms and backyards to Arctic expeditions and volcanic lava tubes, this project invites students, educators, families, and curious minds to contribute real-world environmental observations while learning how science happens beyond textbooks.

The Explorers Club 50: Fifty People Changing the World that the World Needs to Know About

I am honored to be named to the 2024 class of The Explorers Club 50: Fifty People Changing the World that the World Needs to Know About. Each year, the EC50 recognizes fifty extraordinary people doing remarkable work to promote science and exploration but who remain under the radar and out of the limelight. My fellow honorees are exploring, inspiring, and creating the future- the future of the planet, life upon it, and the boundless possibilities that await us all. I am so excited to be part of this visionary community.
